MIC Europe BV uses the BART™ (Biological Activity Reaction Test) to determine if MIC-causing bacteria are present in sources water, tubercles and system water during the evaluation of occurring MIC corrosion in fire sprinkler systems.
We chose the BART™ system after ten (10) years of evaluating available biological testing methods.
The BART™ system is easy to use and accurate, and evaluates possible symbiotic relationships of various MIC-causing species (both aerobic and anaerobic).
The BART™ system may be used as a diagnostic tool to identify MIC within systems and to monitor the effectiveness of in-place treatment programs.
When the BART™ system is integrated with chemical testing for nutrient availability and corrosion by-products, plus piping evaluation, a complete picture of the dynamics of MIC corrosion can be seen.
